Hometown Weekend
There’s a little bit of something for every taste this weekend!
I know there’s always something happening in our town or in nearby communities, but sometimes I just want it to come to my door so I can see my options at a glance. When I ran Girls on the Run, one of the things that mattered most to me was that girls be able to say no to the program and choose what felt right for them. If they didn’t know about a program because we hadn’t told them, that was on me, and I took that responsibility seriously.
That’s part of why I like this section of Good Works Weekly. It’s about making sure people know what’s happening so they can decide whether to join in, learn something new, or simply stay home and rest. Whatever you choose this weekend, go out, stay in, volunteer, or laugh with friends, enjoy the people you share it with.
