Sparkle And Shine
☀️ GOOD WORKS REVIEW: SUNSHINE INDUSTRIES ☀️
Some organizations provide a service. Others provide something much deeper: breathing room, purpose, dignity, and hope.
That’s what I see in the work of Sunshine Industries in Ardmore, which serves adults with developmental disabilities and the families who love them.
Every family experiences stress. But when you’re caring for an adult child with developmental disabilities, the everyday demands of life can carry an additional layer of challenges. Having a place where your loved one can be supported, engaged, learn, work, and simply be themselves can make an enormous difference in a family’s quality of life.
And Sunshine Industries does more than provide adult day services.
Their resale shop creates opportunities for individuals to experience the value of work - to learn skills, contribute, earn a little money, build confidence, and experience the satisfaction of knowing, “I did this. I have something to offer.”
I think that matters enormously.
At the core of every one of us is a need to feel valued and to have purpose. Sunshine Industries creates a safe place for people to discover their abilities, grow in confidence, and know that they matter.
A special thank-you to Executive Director Lisa Holley, whose heart for this work is evident, along with the dedicated staff, board of directors, volunteers, and especially the families who love and advocate for their loved ones every single day.
Hats off to Sunshine Industries. 💛
Your work makes Ardmore a kinder, stronger, more inclusive community and it makes a real difference in the lives of the people you serve.
That’s a Good Works Review worth celebrating. ☀️
